Hey All,

I just received a 2013 Dodge Charger marked patrol vehicle.

I have 3 Whelen Avenger lights that I transferred from my Crown Vic. (1 of them is red/blue split & 1 is all blue & 1 is all red). I plan on putting the all red & all blue ones front facing beneath the visors and the split in the middle of the windshield.

I'm thinking about a Whelen Dominator D6 split red/blue to sit on the front push bumper.

I'm also thinking about the Whelen Inner Edge 8 module split red/blue for the rear deck.

How does everybody think this is going to look? Any suggestions??

Thanks.

sounds pretty good, i would get an Inner Edge for the front windshield for a nice fit and put the talons, as you described, on the rear deck. i think it would look nicer than 3 talons on the front and less flashback

PM me with any questions, i just finished a 2012 R/T POV

i agree 100% with this

Is this marked Charger going to have a lightbar on it, or be a marked slick top?

for the front:

i think an inner edge for the front is hands down, the way to go. It would fit perfectly, have no flashback, have TDs, and not to mention, look clean and finished. Theres nothing 'finished' about 3 single talons in a windshield of a 2013 charger. i.e. The flash back, the wires, the suction cups. Plus, i feel like they always need to be re-adjusted.

for the rear:

the three talons would work on the rear deck, but if it were my squad, id want a traffic advisor. That being said, id try and sell those 3 talons and buy an Inneredge (or ILS) for the rear. there have been a few R/A/B ones in the classifieds lately for CHEAP. if not, You could keep the talons, and ADD a FedSig Cuda OHP SignalMaster, and hang it from the rear headliner, with the talons on the deck, or vice versa. The CUDA-OHP are all over the place for like $50.

for the grill:

I would scratch the Dominator all together and put a pair of M4s ,(one R and one B) , pedestal mounted to the push bar.

Marked with a light bar on top. And those are some good options to consider. Thank-you.

If you have a light bar on the car, definitely DO NOT put a front interior bar in the car. I would do a pair of M4s in the grills and a pair of LINZ6s on the sides of the Pushbar.

As for the rear, the 3 talons will suffice, but an inner edge is the way to go

Can you list the equipment already installed on the car? That will help us make suggestions on where to put stuff.

I will say right of the bat that a car with a light bar doesn't need anything on the front or rear headliner.

Came with: A factory Whelen light bar. Wig wags in the high-beams, white strobes in the front headlights & in the rear turn signals.

Looking for advice on other front lights (inside or out) and advice on a rear deck setup.

Put a flasher in the rear tail lights. You can flash the "race track" tail lights in the rear. While not brutally effective during the day, it's very good at night. For the price of a high side flasher and a diode, it's a no-brainer.

Just don't put a nasty-fast flashing rear deck bar on it!

Expensive suggestion:

Whelen M4 solid red/blue on pushbumper

Whelen PAR fog light inserts synced in an x-pattern with the push bumper

SoundOff nForce Red/Blue/White on push bumper sides

SoundOff interior pinnacle all amber on the rear deck

Cheaper solution:

Whelen 500 series LIN6 solid red/blue on push bumper

Whelen LINZ6 on push bumper sides

Currently owned Avengers on the rear deck synced

Regardless of what you do, I would sell the split Avenger.

Having a lightbar, HLF, and TLF, HAW's in the HL and TL, you are really set up with an effective light package, without the clown car effect.

With the lights you have, I would put the split avenger on the dash in a slow alternating pattern. Put the Red and Blue avengers on the deck, spaced as far against the C post as possible, set on steady and wired to a flasher in a slow alternating pattern.

Not sure what kind of switch set up you have but I'd set up the following way:

Position 1-rear avengers, TLF, of lightbar (2 inner heads each side, no corners).

Postion 2-pos 1 plus HL strobes, front bar.

Position 3-add HLF, dash light, flashing TD/AL (if equipped).

If you have an extra switch, wire in the deck avengers, for key off, for ID lights.

The lightbar should have a TA.

Lights on the push bumper are cool, but not needed if you have the HLF, and will drown the HL strobes. Instead of forward lights, put something on the sides for intersection. The sound off intersectors would be cool.

Does anybody know what kind of bar this is? This is EXACTLY what I am looking for, just not that fast of a pattern. That is more distracting then it is helpful for safety.

Thats a whelen InnerEdge. its using all LIN6 lightheads. Theres one in the classifieds in all blue...

If your cruiser already came equipped in that manner your front and rear visibility is solid. I would concentrate on adding side visibility. Ive recently installed dominators behind the trills of new interceptors and they look nice. However I have installed some IONS in the grill of some new expedition's and they are unreal!!!!! I really like them and wished I'd installed them instead of the dominators. If I were you I'd think about putting some Interceptor lights under the mirrors or even some HG2 lights down the sides although my expierence with that company is not good. I like the idea just not impressed with engineering or price. I have one fleet customer that loves them so I install them.

Sounds good, but I have a few recommendations

1) IMHO, split single avengers aren't very effective (like anything split); I'd recommend a dual dash light (ie dual avenger or dual viper) to replace that.

2) add side warning: solid red or blue ions on the sides of the pushbar, and your solid color single avengers or ions behind the B-post

3) make sure that the dominator and rear inner edge do not have red and blue modules interweaved (ie R/B/R/B, etc). Please do something like B/B/B/R/R/R or B/B/R/R/B/B for the dominator color configuration, and something similar for the rear inner edge. Big foot prints at a moderate flash rate (no crazy seizure fast) are best for rear warning bars, IMO. However, if your exterior lightbar is already all red/blue, I'd consider an amber rear deck bar so that u can have a traffic advisor. If the rear inner edge ends up being too much for your budget, a pair of Vipers or Avengers on either side of the rear deck, a dual dash light centered, or 2 dual dash lights on opposite ends of the rear deck work well too!

4) add a pair of linz6 on the rear LP bracket (ie 1 amber and 1 blue, or 2 amber if both the lightbar and rear inner edge are both all red and blue)

Being a 6'2", I could never drive a charger with an interior headliner bar on a regular basis, due to the limited window space, so thank god u have an exterior lightbar and don't have to worry about having to deal with hunching over to see past the headliner bar (as I would have to do with a slick top charger). The lightbar, the dominator 6, a dashlight, and a headlight flasher are more than enough front warning buddy. Good luck.
