I got two mini SD lightbars with the interesting detail that both are made at the same time (10/25/1983) and has the numbers 48717 and 48718.

Domes are in good shape, interior dusty but only surface rust on a few parts.

So I disassembled the bars, cleaned the interior and installed a new gasket.
The domes were wet sanded with 1000-1500-2000-2500-3000 grit.
The last step with 3000 makes the polishing easier and the finish speaks for itself.

Very nice. Dig the clear dome with blue bulbs.

Very nice, both are 2nd gen SD bars. I see you mentioned replacing the gasket, I would also recommend replacing the drive belts, you can find them relatively easily and are inexpensive.

I checked the drive belt. No cracks or brittle spots. If it is necessary to replace the belt, I can order it.
The gasket, on the other hand, was brittle and flattened.
