Anyone know of any agencies ( no dealers or resellers please) that use 33mhz frequencies? I have a few agencies I know of that have some working 120watt Motorola maratracs taking up space. These things are heavy and big.

Yes my department uses 33 mhz but our county is in the process of changing. We will be phasing into P25 in the next year or so! (supposedly)

The agencies are in a county where they used 33mhz for a fire control talkback channel, the county is getting rid of the 33mhz license and the agencies want to sell or move these big mobile radios. The county is now ALL VHF 155mhz and there is no use for the 33mhz equipment.I managed to broker their 33mhz HT750,CDM750s and Maxtracs but no luck with the 120 watt Maratracs due to shipping weight and size. The $$ went back into Fire Company funds or was used a account credit to buy more parts, pagers or VHF radios.

Are you selling (or brokering) these radios for other agencies? If so, please close this thread, and list them for sale in your current non-warning for sale thread.

I don't know what the band split is on your particular radios, but Nebraska State Patrol still uses 42mhz. I think they have started to transition over to using the statewide P25 system though...

many counties and agencies are holding onto their 29-46mhz FCC licenses as they are hard to obtain once they expire...especially considering co channel interference from long distances and skip from even longer distances.
