Anyone have experience and thoughts about the 5.11 uniform shirts? I have ZERO experience with them.

I am trying to put together uniforms for this company and wanted the Elbeco TexTrop. I have worn their shirts before and they arent bad. However, Elbeco does not offer the same colors across the line. So if we were to have a female hired, they do not have a navy colored shirt in women's. That pissed me off. I like Flying Cross but I think it may be out of price range. 5.11 does have their men's and women's uniform colors pretty much across the uniform line, which is good.

I am also looking for recommendations on uniform pants with an extra pocket on the side (not BDU's). Thanks folks!

Here is my .02 on this... I am currently wearing the 5.11 PDU Class B blend uniform for duty. I like the fit and feel since I am not a huge fan of 100% poly... The diamond crotch is nice, doesn't seem to split or tear as quickly when bending over... It seems to me the trousers run a little small, and IF you mis-match materials, check sizes... One pair of 38's in one material doesn't seem to me to be the same size in a different material. They also seem to hold their color pretty well too so far (about six months of wear daily duty wear).

As for a utility pant, the TDU fits nicely, I really like how those fit/feel. But they might not be what you are looking for, they I do believe have an EMS pant line similar to the PDU/TDU product line.

I have a department of 16 people and we've switched to 5.11 uniforms. If I'm not mistaken they are 35/65 ripstop in midnight navy. They are outstanding for comfort, looks, and ease of care. We have the zipper front shirts and two styles of pants, regular uniform dress pants and bdu uniform pants. These are by far the best uniforms I've worn in my 30+ years on the job. I personally believe that the sizes run a little big so I'd suggest "try before you buy". Good luck with whatever you decide on.

I like the 5.11 PDU shirts in Class A, not so much in class B simply because the extra stitching & stuff make's 'em look "busy"...but either way they're nice. Definitely check sizes, they used to run large but now with the new PDU fabric (as opposed to the older, nylon blend stuff) they seem to be sized more accurately.

The TDU pants I can't stand, because of that expandible tunnel waistband & no room in the crotch. Plus they're too much like BDUs, which you do't want. The Blauer Streetgear pants have side pockets yet still look like regular duty pants, and hold up well for me.

I cant do the "try before you buy" thing as much as I would like to. Maybe if I can hook up with a 5.11 dealer and send them for fitting but we will see.

Are there any Class A pants with side pockets from 5.11?
