700 series Linear led question

I recently got a great deal on a 900 series linear led light. Looking at the backside the 2 led sections are removable, and the 700 series light I bought has the same panel. I was hoping to split the sections from the 900 light into 2 700 lights, yet when I inquired about aftermarket reflectors that idea got shot down. Any help as to what I can do with the light, or should I just try to get out of it what I got into it?

I had the same problem. Here is what I figured out on my own.


The 900 sections (top and bottom), when split with a saw, are not the same exact size as the 700. The lenses will not fit the sawed apart 900's. Also, the reflectorized coating on the lights flakes off when cut through.


I was able to get ONE of the two i had cut into 2 sections to be used as a head inside an edge bar, but they are extremely hard to use anything because of the design. I ended up selling my other 900's or trading them for some other parts because I could never find 700's to trade the 900's for.
