Good evening all, I have recently dug out a Aero 24SE that once resided in Arizona. When I powered it on, the rotators well didn't rotate. I disconnected the motor drive from the rotator gears and the motor and worm gear works just fine. When I hand rotated the rotators, they rotated but not as freely as my other Aeros do. I then isolated the two gears that connect the "timing" belt that runs to either side of the speaker tray. Those two gears rotated but not without some encouragement. Can an old timing belt create this kind of additional tension? The number on the belt is 8542A014.Model 24SE Overview.jpgModel 24SE Belt Closeup.jpg

One final question is what is the easiest way to remove the inner two rotators to change the belt?
Also should I invest in two replacement drive belt gear assemblies?
Any help is appreciated thanks, Dee

This belt fits (may be able to find cheaper on eBay). https://a.co/d/eGpY0hy

To replace the belt, you just unscrew the base plate and literally bend the plate just enough to pull the belt off. It's not elegant but it works. You can remove the gears if you want but you'll need a 1/8" (I think) roll pin punch to push out the roll pins that hold them on their shafts.

HA! I never would have thought to remove the belt that easily. Thanks also for the tip to find one and how to remove the gears. Hope I dont need to use a punch on them. Consider this a closed thread. Thanks so much for the help!
