Anyone familiar with NYSP vehicle paint and decals?

Hey guys, I'm going to be building a few 1:24 scale models of NYSP vehicles, CVPI and Chargers, and I was hoping if someone knew of the shade of paint on the cars or a spray or other kind that is a very close match. I already have a source for decals:

https://www.fleet.ford.com/EDMS/Anonymous/default.aspx?Object_Name=0900cad9808a2a56 is the Fleet Color Guide for Ford, and the closest color looks to be at the bottom, code W8866H. Hope this helps!

Most are the dark blue but I've seen a few lighter blue cars. I've also seen black DOT vans and Camaros.

from a conversation i had a couple years ago regarding this topic, the reply I got was that dark blue spray paint (or even krylon dark blue paint) will be as close as a match to the NYSP blue.


Glad to see a fellow model maker on the forums, I mostly do fire related ones though.

Where do you find fire related kits??? All I can find is either preassembled die cast metal or foreign trucks. I'd go broke fast if I knew where to find a good supply of fire engine kits!

trumpeter has a really nice ALF eagle fire truck modeled after college park VFD E-121. It can cost ya upwards of 100.00 though online.


I have built 3 of them. It comes with authentic looking diamond plate also
