Anyone know much about the retailer "Grainger"?

they primarily deal with businesses only and only sell mostly industrial products. havent seen many lights etc on their web site or in any of the actual locations but again could just be the local store.

I've seen them list Whelen products over MSRP. They carry so many products that they get large business, institutions, schools, agencies hooked as a single source supplier. I worked in purchasing for an agency that purchased from them. In the amount of time it took the purchasing agent to look up products in their catalog, I found $8000 in savings searching for the products on the internet from other suppliers, some local, some not. Of course the sources I located weren't "approved" vendors.

Rule #2, if the boss is wrong, see rule #1

Alot of what I bought were bulbs and batteries and a few other things and the price I paid was about the same as others. I did notice they were high on alot of things. But I would rather pay a few bucks more than wait a few days for it. There is a store local to me (atleast last time I ordered parts from them been a few years now)

they recently bought out A and W direct and moved out of CT

they are good for industrial stuff but they only sell to business

McMast-Carr is alot better and the same things (they were started by the pullman Standard company)

And because of that, they are not taking on any new vendors for the next 4-6 months. I got that first hand from am AW Direct Sales VP at the Baltimore Tow Show the weekend before last.
