Show and tell for Medquest students today at the hospital. We did a mock extrication from a vehicle with one patient, then the Army National Guard landed this ol' girl (Which is brand new) in the field behind us and let the students check it out.

They had an oil leak in the tail rotor area, so they were grounded until another chopper could deliver oil. In one of the pics you can see the tail is all oil. One of the pilots said there is no such thing as a perfect aircraft. Must be real comforting thinking that while you are up in the air. It was pretty awesome though.

The National Guard retired it's last Huey on October 5, 2009 in a nice ceremony at Fort Myer, after 50 years of service, I think that is the second oldest in US inventory next to the B-52. Also if anyone was also wondering what a Kiowa is, it is a reconnaissance/observation helicopter...

The Marines use a different version of the Huey called the UH-1N Iroquois which is a twin engine version.

Baddass=Dustoff bird w/ miniguns. Pedro Flight style.

Remove the red crosses, and do as the Marines, USAF and Brits: Arm them. The Army, (whom I love), is institutionally stupid for ignoring the benefits of armed rescue aircraft.
