Here's the second vehicle we did for our local Seriff's office.

Equipment installed:

Whelen Epsilon siren / 4-Switch Combo

Galls Concealment Speaker

Galls 3 in 1 Smart Flasher HLF

Galls (Whelen) Dual Talon - Red/Blue

2 Galls (Whelen) Single Talons - Red/Blue Split

We did NOT install the mobile radio in this car. It was previously installed by a local "Professional" radio shop. Also, we did NOT order the equipment. It was ordered by the Sheriff's Office and given to us to install. The rear deck lights would have been synced if they could have been...

And here are the pics...

And here's a short video...

Hope you enjoy... Any and all comment, complaints, tips, or whatever are welcome!!!

+1 for installing the siren controller in the factory console. The radio doesn't look *that* bad, (cant tell if its a full unit or a head) but I'm sure they could have found room for a remote head in that black area in front of the shift (hard to tell from the pic how much room there is)

It needs a TLF or HAW's and grille lights IMO.

It's a full radio... We tried moving it into the center console infront of the shifter, but the radio was too wide. And yes, a remote style might have fit there... LoL The siren is in the factory cup holder spot, we removed the cup holder and were surprised that it fit so well... LOL As for TLF, HAWs, and grill lights, this is all they wanted, and it was a very long process to get the Sheriff to agree to install this set-up... LoL But soon they'll be a new Sheriff and it might get added to...

I know you didn't spec the package, but it's got the split fail in the rear. Plus, they obviously paid too much (didn't you know the G means "overpriced" [usually, anyway]?).

I imagine they could have gotten a much better package for the price they paid for the merchandise they provided you had they done a bit of leg work.

Nice install. Galls has the duel talon for $140 on clearance. I also think to split a single talon is not the best. Grille lights would br nice. What is this car used for.

Nice job with the controller, but they have got to be kidding if they want to use that for going code. There is no intersection warning, and barely enough front warning. The back talons I think would look better using a more rapid flashing pattern. I know you can only use what they give you, but thats just not safe!

Well they mostly just do warrent service, prisoner pickup and transport. Not too much as fas as traffic stops or such. Have never been allowed to really. They have never done much emergent type responses either(considering they havent had a warning package) but have had multiple instances in which they have needed some type of warning. It has taken them several years to convince the sheriff to allow the lighting. Very much aggreed that theres still not enough. Im sure with a little convincing (with a new sheriff) that more should be added later on. As for the rear talons, we werent sure if a faster patteren would look right. We tried but it gave it a purple look, which is not what we wanted. Thanx for all your imput and comments so far

theyve been doing fine in my area with about the same amount of equipment.... very well done on the control box, really a stark contrast between your install and the radio shop. shame on those split heads.

oh well, its paid for, lol.

A nice install job TB.

They're going to wish they had provided you the proper speaker and mounting bracket for that car after it becomes full of water, fails, and they have to pay you to replace it. I"m certain the drain hole for that speaker isn't at the bottom like it should be based on your photos.

It's a shame when agencies don't understand that the term "universal mount" doesn't always mean it will work in their application.

Thanks Cajun... Yeah, I though about the draine hole issue... It's actually facing out, but is sealed with a little silicon... I tried finding another spot, but that failed quickly... LoL The speaker is, for the most part, protected... The only place is the lower bumper openings for water to get to it... We'll see how it goes... LoL

Why do depts (like mine) still thin Galls is the shiznit for equipment? :duh: :duh: :duh:

I like where the controller is. Fits like a glove.
