So i saw one of these at walmart.com for $19.99. they were going for $32 at my autozone. I figured I'd pick one up to try it out.
here's my lil ol review.
This light isn't very big, it was about the same size as a sho me strobe light i sould a few months back.
(here is a "beverage container" for size refference)
cord is about 10 feet stretched out.
here's the plug with its on/off switch.
now for the innards....
8 leds stacked on top of each other and there are 8 rows of them.
on with the top on...
and with it off...
now for a few comparison shots...
next to a micro man light behind 20% tint. (see my thread here... http://www.elightbars.org/forums/f35/amber-microman-lights-through-tint-day-night-12937/)
and on top of a federal signal viper S2...
(yeah its there just the viper blows it away!)
a shot about 10 feet back with no other lighting.
i took vids on another phone last night but they wouldnt transfer on to my memory card so i'll have to work on that. the LEDS when viewed through a camera seem to have 2 patterns but the light only just flashes continously. If you hold the light verticaly the leds appear to "rotate" 8 leds at a time. if you hold it verticaly the leds appear to "rise" (like an arrow pattern)
the light is built as any $20 light would be. it isn't perfect on the inside as their is resin splatter and for some reason it is sticking to some of the leds. i wouldnt recommend this for any real use, daytime, or primary but night time it'd be Ok.
more for mail carriers or newspaper deliverers even snowplowers. (or whackers on a budget)
i really only bought this light for its guts as i have a plan for it with some better leds...
