Hey Left can you pre order one for me?

I suppose so. You might be able to order one yourself online and ship it to my location. I'm happy to pop it in the mail to you.

If that works, PM me and I'll let you know the address.

Cheers

I have to know... How exactly is this synced with the hockey games?

Pretty cool either way.

ETA- I found some info....

The device is powered by Electric Imp a start-up that makes SD-card-like chips that have Wi-Fi and an embedded processor. The idea is that by offering an all-in-one chip, hardware makers will be able to embed Internet of Things functions into otherwise dumb devices without having to bootstrap their own networking and software department. (Electric Imp offer both the hardware and the back end.)

It's then run through an android or iphone app that monitors your team for up to the second scoring.

Totally awesome!

I've been using beacons as hockey goal lights for a few years now, but they are not automatically turned on every goal.

The person in the switch-side of the couch is the one to push the goal button :D

That said, i like the concept.

This is Elightbars. I think there are far better lights available here for this kind of purpose. The rotating led lights are cool, but I heard they sale for 150$-ish. You can get better and cooler lights here for that kind of money, IMHO. :)

I don't see it being too hard to make one. There's interfaces to control lights with a computer, and apps that will do whatever (alert, text message) when a team scores. I just need to find someone that can link the two.
