Can you install mirror beams with puddle lights?

I been debating mirror beam for my 2004 Ford Explorer. I noticed with it says they can not be installed on an Explorer with puddle lights. Is there a way to get them installed if there are puddle lights? How hard is it to install mirror beams in general? Anyone know where I could find some?

Thanks

I think you can still install them, but your puddle lights will be blocked... But i'm not 100%... I know with my Avalanche, the mirrors with the puddle lights are the same as the ones without, but I don;t know about the Fords...

This is what Whelen told me when I emailed them:

No. The heat from the puddle lights will damage the housing that slides
over that assembly.

However, I still installed them, and I've had no issues at all thusfar. The housing is cut out around the puddle lights already. I think the bigger issue is wiring. I can see how you'd get the wiring through without all the extra stuff for the puddle lamps, but they block the route for the wiring. I ended up drilling one hole in the mirror assembly and one in the mirror beam to get the wiring done. It's functional, and not very noticeable. I can snap some shots if you'd like.

Maybe that is just a way for Whelen to cya? I understand that. I been thinking about something on my mirrors. When I had an 05 F150 I mounted some Tomar Rect's ont he mirrors. That was a huge pain to install. I also gave some thought to something like the Ghost's and mounting them on the bottom of the mirrors?

Idk, I love my mirrorbeams, because they have a very "factory" look. Regardless of what type of LED you want there, routing any wiring in that area is going to be a pain, because you can't get it from the outside in easily at all. If you're not in love with your puddle lamps, I assume normal mirrors would be easier to install on, and they are cheap at http://www.discountautomirrors.com/ I purchased a replacement mirror from them earlier this year, and it was quick and easy to install. I kept the puddle lamps/heated mirror of course.
