Cannon Hyperflash and a Resistor

So what's the best remedy for this, I'm actually toying with the idea of leaving the bulbs in the sockets and letting them sit behind the lights, just worried about the elements getting to the bulbs.

Need to find out what the canbus is wanting to see for a read out then use a multimeter to get the proper size resistor in place. 

(Some vehicle manufacturers can reprogram the BCM on the vehicle to ignore this)
