Would anyone know if another company than Juluen manufactures chameleon-type LED devices ?

Only Juluen make those lightheads. Whelen makes something similar, but it uses 2 diodes instead of one. I don't know if they make the dashlight version yet though.

Axixtech/Juluen is the only company that i'm aware of that makes a true chameleon light (lightbar, surface mount, and dash)


As mentioned before, whelen does have duo-color lighting (only for the 2010 liberty lightbar, to my knowledge), but it is only interweaved LEDs of 2 alternating colors. In addition, the SOS pinnacle lightbar has dual-color corners; a total of 24 diode corners in each color (12 of each color).

Too bad, Axixtech would not sell the dual Micromax Xtreme in cham below a 50 items order. As far as I was explained by their sales person, they don't even manufacture it unless they get an order. Ridiculous policy. :roll:

I've been trying to get the number down for the past couple of years with no luck.


And I never did get pricing from them.


That and the ship time isn't worth taking orders on the board unless people who order pay half up front (non refundable) and the rest when shipped so they don't back out later when the lights arrive. I had that happen when I did the orders for the Chameleon Extreme Dash lights a couple of years ago.

I had actually started to converse on the subject of the dual chameleon MicroMax with one of their sales rep, before a big show here in Paris where they had a booth. The idea I was pushing was for her to bring a couple of items to sell me "over the counter", saving on D&T and ensuring the devices were in proper working order.


When we met on the show, she said the duals were not even MADE yet. Just a pic on their catalog, but they didn't even have a demo for the show, not one item of this dual MicroMax had ever been manufactured!

That is correct, their response to me was that they didn't want to spend the money on tooling a dies to make a demo, hence the 50 piece minimum.

I mailed Whelen a short while ago, and was qurious if they would come up with a dual/single Avenger in dual color, the only answer I recieved was "no, but maybe in a brand new lamp".


So maybe...
