Check out this cool rotating LED minibar. Kinda like the Vision SLR

That is ECCO's hybrid led bar. They have a good halogen style pop to them but they arent the brightest bar out there.

Been around for a while. I heard performance was just 'OK'.

I saw one of these bars a couple of days ago on a wide load flag car on the interstate while it was working a load. As I steadily approached from the rear, it appeared to be a halogen bar, as the flashes were noticeable but average from a distance of about a quarter of a mile or so. As I neared and passed, I saw it was different from any other bar I have ever seen and I paid more attention to it. Those moving mirrors look pretty unique up close, and it was a decent bar for what it was being used for, which was for a vehicle moving near or at normal speeds. I wouldn't recommend using one on a response vehicle that often runs at higher speeds though, as it does not have the intensity level that would be needed and desirable on a fast moving vehicle.

I've never understood the appeal of these, by using the rotating motor you lose the LED benefits of low current draw, no moving parts, etc. If you really need 360 coverage go with halogen rotators. After much experimentation FDNY settled on LED minibars that have a halogen rotator on the outer segment, for better intersection warning.

The Vision SLR is a little different, there you have a stepper motor so you can do lots of things with the LED's, and also it's a whole lot brighter.

That is one SEXY bar. i like the led/halogen combo!

I dont know how many times i see people saying that motors draw loads of current. they only draw .2 amps, 1 amp if its a fast speed, same, if not less than an LED minibar. and if its direct drive from the motor, it should never fail, motors fail when gears jam. I have an LED minibar, draws 2.2 amps, I got a halogen minibar, draws 8 amps, 6 amp difference, the bulbs draw 3.9 amps each 50w.

the bulb is where the amp draw is, i bet theres no chance of those ECCO minibars not rotating
