Coat Hook mount for rear Pick Up window lights?

Has anyone ever used the Coat Hook body mount and hardware to mount an interior light?

My F250 has two, pretty much directly over and behind the headrests for the outside back seat passengers. In other words, it isn't above the door, but above the back window.

This seems like a really good and easy way to mount interior lights facing out the back window, but I have never seen it. Removing the plastic hook leaves screw and body tab to fasten whatever you want to it. Fabricating a bracket with aluminum would set a single light, or maybe even a light arrow assembly, to these pre-made spots.

Anyone ever done this?
