Code 3 Optix SuperVisor/Wingman information and opinions?

I was just issued a car with these and so far I'm pretty unimpressed. I don't know if it's the tint, the flash pattern, or the lights themselves.

They're on a random flash pattern which seems to lessen effectiveness. I'm wondering if a split non-random pattern would make it better.

I don't know anything about them other than what's on the Code 3 website and just wondered if you all have any experience or opinions on these particular products or the Optix light heads themselves. How long have they been around?

Code 3 is fine with me, especially the new LED lightbars which rival or beat the Liberty at its own game, but these seem rather anemic as warning devices compared to what's available now.

In what type of vehicle and how is it mounted? Can you take some pics so we can see what you are working with?

+1 on the picture. It is possible you have the LC LED version which is GEN2 LEDs and is not that great IMO

I have an optix version in my demo car and I will gladly send a video of in action. I did change the patterns from the factory default and .... well......Ill let you be the judge on how it looks

Thanks for being willing to help, guys!

It's a 2009 Charger. The Wingman is on rear deck and SuperVisor on the front visor.

Here are a couple quick photos...they're all I have right now. If you can't tell enough from these I can take more photos or get more information tomorrow.

To change the flash pattern you need to take the bar down and open it up. Behind the LEDs is the circuit board with two prongs. When you "connect" these two prongs it changes the pattern. You have to do this for each light head. To sync them you'd have to set them to steady burn and get an external flasher that can handle 1.5 amps per head for the Wingman. I think the Supervisor you have has 3 LEDs per head throwing out .75 amps.

Hey guys, any suggestions on which pattern might be more effective since it can't be sync'd?

Thanks.

Set a couple to simple single or double flash for pos 1-2 on the 3 pos switch, and then then others on the quad or quad/single, maybe even a quicker pattern for response.

Those stink for trying to find anything appealing.

Here's what I ended up doing and it looks much better than the random pattern.

Supervisor:

ModelFlash (Moduflash) - outside heads (1 each side)

FiveFlash 150 - inside 3 heads (each side)

ActiveFlash (ActionFlash) - center angled heads

Wingman:

QuadFlash 150 (outside 4 heads)

Single Flash 150 (inside 4 heads)

QuadFlash 150 (center 4 heads)

I just sent your video that I promised. I finally had time to get that today while it wasnt raining. If you dont get it on your cell, let me know and I will try to figure out how to get it from my phone to here.

Thanks

Received. Thanks! I'm much happier with what I've got now. I'll probably end up changing it again, but it looks a thousand times better, and will likely be much more effective, especially the Wingman.

I might take some video as well and post youtube links.
