Was it possible to order a code 3 SD without the speaker housing? I found one and i thought it was just missing, but the more i examine it, the more it looks factory.

Someone is selling one near me with more or less a blank in the center no speaker grill on either side.

Do a quick search in elb threads and you'll find this out. SDs yes, and apparently Twinsonic as well.

I did to a search on ELB threads, but i didn't find anything. I do remember a post about it way back when, but i couldn't find it. Maybe i wasn't using the proper terminology.

Took abit of searching but here it is..

SD bars were available with speaker centers, plain centers, NO center, and clear centers. The SD was still in production when the concerns about hearing damage due to sirens on vehicle roofs, but these options were available long before.

I've never seen an "All light" SD bar with a clear center. Unless your referring to the triple threat series but there where 2 speaker grilles seperating the center section.

Not saying it never happened.. but I personally have never run across it.

The clear centers were standard with the OsciLaser and Stinger modules, and sometimes ordered with takedown lights as they became popular.

Someone even tried to put an Opticom under the clear center, but this was a failure. I'm not sure if the problem was that it simply wouldn't fit, or that there wasn't any airflow for cooling, but they ended up with no center lens at all. It looked stupid.

Do you have some pictures of the beam with/without center dome?
