Code 3 XL 5000 had sealed beam rotators.Very, very nice bar.
But isn´t it a XL9000 because of the sealed beams.
I thought XL5000 is with the single rotators.
Code 3 XL 5000 had sealed beam rotators.
Code 3 XL 9000 had sealed beam rotators, but the outboard rotators had 3 bulbs instead of 2.
Force 4 XL5000 had independently driven revolving reflectors.
What confuses people on the models is that Public Safety Equipment Co. did not begin using the Force 4 name to differentiate between the sealed beam and the rotating reflector versions until 1986. So for a while you could see either types of rotating lights in bars marked Code 3.
I know!! lol I remember talking about them when you came to my house. I hope all is good with you sir!Nice Steve! Newton XLs are by far my all time Fav. bars.

OOPS! My mistake and this is what happens when I do not check my references. PSE did introduce the Force 4 name in 1982 to differentiate the two basic production lines, but XL9000 used sealed beams in the rotating assemblies. The XL5000 was always the model number for independently driven rotating reflector models. My apologies for adding to the confusion.
