Difference in Whelen 400 Series 6 over 6 heads

The upper one has the light diffuser over the leds, where the bottom one doesn't... Other then that, ther are the same...

I guess what im after is how does the diffuser affect the output? is one just a better spread than the other or is one actually brighter?
Everything internally is the same except the diffuser. I prefer the lightheads with the diffuser. However there is not much of a difference. Both are used in the industry without issue.
The diffuser is supposed to spread the light better, but I haven't seen much of a difference bewteen the two...
hmm. ok I'm looking at getting a freedom bar that has these style leds in them i just wanted to make sure
With the project I'm working on right now, I've got a mixture of 6over6 400 series heads and haven't noticed anything that would concern me.
