I got the Whelen Dominator brackets for a Chevy Tahoe the insatllation requires a rivet nut. When I installed the rivet nut it didn't go in flush.

How do i remove the rivet nut without damaging the surronding sheet metal ???

Easiest way is to drill it out. Use a drill bit big enough to take the head off and let the body fall inside the bodywork. If you've got another rivnut compare it to your drill bits to find one slightly bigger than the body. If you try and knock it out you'll damagethe bodywork.
