Announcement Email Issues: Time Warner/RoadRunner, Comcast, & Charter

Following our recent server migration, I've notice a lot of our outgoing emails have been bounced back to the server as undelivered. This is a normal occurrence in moderation, however a few email service providers have been aggressively blocking our mail to members in the past few days:
  • Comcast Email (No response from CSI Cloudmark)
  • Time Warner & Road Runner Email (No response from CSI Cloudmark)
  • Charter Email (No response from CSI Cloudmark)
  • Cox (No response from CSI Cloudmark)
  • CenturyLink (No response from CSI Cloudmark)
And a higher than usual amount of bounces for:
  • Yahoo! (.com & .co.uk) (seems to be resolved)
  • AOL (seems to be resolved)
  • Outlook/Hotmail (seems to be resolved)
  • Yahoo! (seems to be resolved)
This is most likely related to our new IP addresses for all of the websites and their mail servers. We're not on any blacklists, yet, but I'm monitoring the situation and trying to expedite it where I can... the problem is that the process for each of those providers is different and can vary in complexity.

If you receive an error upon login to the forums referencing the validity of your email (when you know it's good), please use our contact forum and we'll help get it sorted out.

Please keep in mind that even the big providers like Google and Yahoo! impose quotas on your account, or they may suspend your account temporarily for any number of reasons. We are not able to do anything about that, unfortunately.

Update:

We've been pursuing this since our forums came back online at the new host. Unfortunately, many of these service providers use the same "reputation scoring" system to check the IP address of email senders. The one we're having a problem with is CSI Cloudmark... and they are unresponsive at best. We're going to keep trying.

We know that most email from the following services are being rejected (bounced):
  • Comcast
  • Charter
  • Cox
  • Time Warner Cable
  • Road Runner
  • Century Link

There are also several smaller providers, mostly privately operated email servers, that are affected by this issue because they also use CSI Cloudmark to detect spam.

We recommend you switch your email address to one of the larger providers, if you have one.

When anyone signs up with a new hosting provider and orders dedicated IP addresses, they have no idea what the prior reputation of that IP address was... sort of like buying a used car. We employ practices to secure our websites and our email servers, but we are currently saddled with the poor reputation of this site's IP address prior to our arrival.

We apologize for the inconvenience.
