Well, I've been busy all summer with the shop and personal projects, but things are starting to slow down and the end of the fiscal year brings more stuff for me to sell over the winter. I just got back from picking up a big haul from a county government. Here's a quick look at some of the stuff I unpacked...

SoundOff deck lights...

Five nForce lightbars (and one Pinnacle)...

And lots of sirens - five ETSA380MF and twelve nErgy 400...

Plus a truckload more of other stuff I need to go through...

I haven't looked up model numbers or tested anything yet, but it's safe to assume everything is red and blue (the visor lights are marked as such). I'm going to try my best to avoid using ebay this year, so I'll have most of this stuff listed here very soon in the for sale section.

Any update on quantities available and pricing?

Wow, that’s definitely a good haul there! Is that the norm to do such large upgrades at the end of each year? Is the upgrade due to them retiring vehicles and buying new, or the need for better equipment - or both?

Well, yes. Every state and every agency is different, but one thing that is pretty much the same between all of them is the "use it or lose it" factor of the budget. This department's vehicles are on a time-in-service schedule, being replaced every so many years, with exceptions for vehicles below a certain mileage threshold. Two of the vehicles in this round were actually totaled in accidents - one was about halfway through it's lifespan and the other was only two months old when it was wrecked. They sat in a garage until the annual teardown. The lightbar, siren, etc. from the 2 month old car is basically brand new. From what I understand they don't shuffle equipment around in this department because they never really have to.
