Fiamm Hi-Lo air horns, with 2 trumpets or possibly 4, are available from the US dealer:
EVAS
12003 Gladhill Ave.
La Mirada, CA 90638
562-947-3310
Attn: John
The former business that supplied LAFD and LA County closed. The distribution was assumed by EVAS. The City has historically used Fiamm, the County has used Unus (no longer available). The Fiamm is very similar to the 2 trumpet Martin Horn, and is as loud or louder. The Fiamm is used in Germany with 2 or 4 trumpets, but it does not produce a tremolo unless the trumpets are modified, not a simple task. The Fiamm sells for about $350.00 in the US, 400-450. in Europe depending on dealer.
There are You Tube videos of both the city and county with the horns. For LA City search for: LAFD Major Emergency part 1, for the County see: LACoFD Squad 8 response and LACoFD Squad 147. The LAFD is a 4 trumpet set. PM me for more info.
I completely agree with Newberry and others: No European or US electronic siren "Martinhorn" or Hi-Lo sounds like a true Martin Horn or true Hi-Lo air horn. They all sound very unlike true air horns. If you want a 4 trumpet Martin Horn you may find a used one on ebay.de, but they will cost around 600. USD plus shipping if the seller will ship to the US. I looked into importing Martin Horns, but by the time I could import them, they would cost around 1,600-2,000, far more than LACo or LAFD wanted to pay, so I gave up the idea. The last I checked, they were about US 1,300. wholesale, ex-factory.
