Federal Flashball Old and New

On a glorious early Summer day I dusted off Fire Truck "Rylstone 200" and compared Federal Signal to Whelen.


As you will see the Off axis test isnt that bad !

I don't think Federal ever intended for the Flashball to be mounted as the primary warning device like that and it cannot compete against good LED's. The Flashball was more for volunteers and unmarked vehicles as a warning light to be placed on the dashboard. It also worked well in place of flashing lights like the LL-4 when double faced lights were not required.
