Federal Model WL, 6 volt siren

Just won a siren on Ebay:

Looking for opinions on how I can get the damage repaired, if possible. Could not pass it up for $55.


Also, what would be my power source for this siren just for table top use for now? I would imagine my car battery would not be a good idea?
