I just picked up a nice BR 175 Hill Light. I powered it up - ran so smooth. I noticed the hill bulb - angle up was cracked and it did not light up. When I took bulb out there was one terminal on the bulb with the white covered wired to ground. The other end was not connected to anything. Where do you grab power for the up angle bulb. The down bulb has a power wire coming up a black cap.

I noticed the up bulb contact will hit the brass colored center rod. Will that ground out? Is there an insulator that I need to use?

Thanks Coop

The up-tilted bulb in the 175 should be installed with the terminals horizontal to the base of the beacon. Installing this bulb in a vertical orientation will result in the terminal at the top of the bulb contacting the center post and shorting out.

If you do not like the horizontal beam pattern, you can get away with turning the bulb so that the terminals are at a 45 or so degree angle relative to the base.
