That diagram is for the wires for an Omega 90 wiring harness. I thought that is what you needed. Sorry.

The yellow wires are usually labeled. No need to panic, you can simply play detective and identify each wire with a combination of testing the outputs while activating the switches and/or tracing them to the switches by looking inside. If you identify a few wires that don't do anything, these are likely "cold" switched, meaning you'd need to provide input on one of the wires to power the switch.

Each terminal/wire on the plug should be numbered. They should be imprinted on the plug. Look hard, they're very small. Match up the number to the list above.

The list above is for the siren connections of the cable. It has nothing to do with the switched outputs.

Download the file

OK....

One page one, the very first one with the pic of the amp... The 14 pin connector. The top row is numbered, left to right, 1-7, and the bottom row, left to right, is numbered 14-8. So, you're saying that the corresponding numbers and wires above don't equal the tone/function next to it? Similar to the 80k amp?

rwo978,

Been :sleepy: ? He's referring to the yellow wires coming from the back of the siren/lighting controller, not the siren control cable.

OK.... Well, he said the omega 90, which I figured was the amp, as there's a gazillion different control heads for these, which he didn't specify. Not to mention, if he only has a control head and not an amp, then all the yellow and black wires are going to do nothing for him. If he's got the control head and the amp, it should just be a matter of plugging one into the other.

The OP was vague on his problem and what parts he exactly has.

For the siren control wire, is there some kind of adapter that would allow you to have wire leads coming from the Omega 90 amp instead of using a factory controller? I want to be able to hook a rotary switch to control all the tones of an Omega 90... :undecided:

rwo978,

I believe it was pretty clear.

You can, you'd need to cut an existing control cable or I can make you a custom length cable with one end open for you to wire to your own switches.

OK, my bad. I missed the 9000 after the wire color. In the original post, there wasn't a lot of info.

You might start by testing the Omega 90 amplifier to see if the airhorn tone works as expected.

With power, ground, and speaker wires connected, remove the CA90 cable (the 14-pin cable from the controller) from the amplifier. Provide power to a pin that turns on a primary tone, such as pin 1 for the CHC tone. You should hear a relay inside the Omega 90 click on. If you have a CHC tone selected, you'll hear it from the speaker. While this tone is running, also provide power to pin 3 for the A/H tone. The primary tone should be overridden by the airhorn tone.

If that works as expected, then you can test the CA 90 cable itself. After connecting the CA90 back to the amplifier, disconnect the CA90 from the control head and provide power to pins 1 and 3 from the controller end of the cable. If that produces the airhorn tone, the problem is either in the controller itself, or in how you have things connected.

Good luck!
