Is there a Need or a Want for any Streethawk Bars or Parts? I found a Bunch at my local GSA but they wont sell anything with red or blue filters or Lights.
I was told I could take a look and see what I can do about moving these items out for them before they crush them. But I didnt want to push the issue if no one had a need.

Looks like 48 inch bars with alleys. 4 rears and 4 fronts, cant tell if them have center rotators or siren covers till i can get a look at them.

Please let me know!

I have a 72 firehawk I have yet to get around to working on.. I need to replace some of the domes.. not sure exactly which.. but your scrapping those.
Innards maybe.. might be worth stripping those in good condition.. and collecting the bulbs if they work.

I'll see if they will let me get at them, also appears to have one of the v bars, they must have all been on fire vehicles( cars, explorers, and such ) not engines or ambulances

The market for them seems to really be declining due to over saturation. They are dime a dozen and usually over priced.

As Soon as I can get back over to the guys who have them I will see what I can Do, they arent going anywhere yet since I asked them about them.

I don't see there being a real big market for these lightbars. Even assuming you get the things for a very low price, you're still going to have to buy lens covers for the lower lights and domes for the top, since you mention they are not going to sell you anything with red or blue. Unless they all come with clear domes, you're still looking at an investment to get the lightbar covered with appropriate domes and lenses.

Streethawks are big, bulky, and take up a lot of room in a collection. Unless it's a rare model, I don't see these moving very quickly. The problem with vintage lighting is there are still people who think these lightbars command a high price, and the simple fact of the matter is you can get a lot of lightbars like these a lot cheaper than some people are wanting to sell them for.

Sad to say, but the crusher would probably be the best place for some of these beasts to end up.

Yes Big and Bulky, But I think we all have a thing for those Reliable Rotator bars, Me I Love those Old Whelen Advantedge Bars with its lower Alley lights and TakeDowns and Flashers or even Strobes! My Buddy Loves his MX7000.
Maybe there isnt a big market for the bar itself but someone may need parts or want to change out their center section from speaker setup to light setup. I Always see Parts availability as an issue, I miss them making strobes and parts for it, thank goodness I found someone who can repair my power supplies, I find LEDs Unreliable, they burn out or stop working and you have lost their power, So Damn Expensive to replace.

Yes and No... as your probably finding out with your own hunt for some vintage bars.. Condition is everything.. and some bars sell really well while others languish either due to a flooded market or just no demand. I don't sell regularly but I know people who do.. and from what I am told they have no problems moving certain bars..

For you maybe..

@Nolines Streethawks are not going to bring in big $$.. but they probably will bring in a little more if you part them out.. Bulbs, motors, rotators, mirrors. wiring harnesses.. etc.

Ohh I had a feeling no big money but the idea is too get parts to people that need them, worn out parts need replacing or something that looks better then what they currently have or something damaged. I just cant see crushing these items for no good reason!

Stampeed, I understand, and agree, with everything you said in the first part of your reply. That said, and by viewing your videos on YouTube, you know quire a bit about vintage bars, and Streethawks aren't anywhere near in demand as other lightbars, including some of the ones I'm looking for.

If you made a list of the most desired lightbars of the Streethawk era, the Streethawk itself isn't anywhere near the top of the list. I was not trying to be rude, but trying to get rid of a whole pallet of Streethawks isn't the same thing as trying to get rid of a whole pallet of JetSonics or AeroDynics.

The problem with price usually ends up being shipping. I get that it takes quite a bit of money to ship a heavy lightbar, but I still stand by what I say about price. I'm not looking for anything particularly rare in my "wanted" post. I don't expect to pay hundreds of dollars for any of the lightbars I'm looking for. The problem is finding them locally. When I have found them locally, I have paid anywhere from 25 to 75 dollars for lightbars that people ask hundreds for.

I still stand by my original statement that there isn't going to be a high demand for these, and trying to pry them from the hands of a place that is starting with the whole "no red and blue" crap is going to be more trouble than it's worth. I am also not a fan of parting out a perfectly good lightbar. If they can be had for a relatively cheap price, and you're willing to sit on them for a while, and/or you're willing to part them out and take the refletcors, rotators, flashers, mirrors, and everything else out of them, then go right ahead. I just don't see the collectibility demand for Streethawks being worth the trouble. I understand that's my opinion, but I stand by my opinion.

A lot of twinsonics and aerodynics went to the crusher. Wish i had a couple pallets of them. NYPD aerodynics were smashed by the truckload according to some members on here. No one would have ever thought they were collectible then.

If they are just giving them away i would take them in a heartbeat with or without lenses. I like having extra parts bars. I would go for it if i was you.

I remember a long time ago - Galls was selling used NYPD aerotwins as amber bars. Mount backwards so red lens to back and swap red bulbs for amber in the rotators. They were asking 99 bucks a bar.
