Feniex Hardware

So I've pretty much come to the conclusion that all of the feniex hardware (screws, bolts, etc) are crap. Everyone I talk to has the same issues.

Do you just replace the hardware right away? If I'm gonna continue using it, I think I will have to do that.

If you replace the hardware, where do you get it from?

I'm tired of screws stripping or breaking and causing extra time to fix and replace. It's pretty much across the board with their stuff. I'm not sure I've ever had one from any of the other major brands have an issue.

their hardware does lack end user usability... you have to use an eye glass screwdriver on most of the stuff...

only real complaint i have with them except i want a 3 mode surface mount

When I use their surface mounts, if it's going on something that I can get a nut on the back, I try to use stainless steel screw with lockwasher, nylon nut and some blue locktite. Otherwise, I try to use a better and stronger stainless screw. I usually just swing by my local ACE Hardware, since it's only 2 mins from my house.

We have a fastenal outside our back door. We use some black screws we get from them. Unless we are going into plastic we don't even bother with the stock screws.

We never use the hardware included. We have a Lawson draw set with stainless hardware. Nothing looks worse than having a nice looking install rusted screw tops a few months later... stainless and Nylock nuts.... an upfitters best friend
