Fireball II Question

I have a Fireball II (rotating, not the strobe) that I want to clean up and keep in the wife's car since I drive it occasionally. Gears are a little noisy and I don't think it's rotating quite as fast as it should (I know it's a slow light, but I think it's just a little slower than normal.) It's still a great light though!

What's the preferred lubricant used to service these? I found one reference to white grease when searching, but really didn't find anything specific mentioned. Is that white lithium grease, or is something better for use on these? Thoughts and/or experience with this light?

Thanks!

You've got it! White lithium grease is what you want.

Take it apart and clean off the old lubricant first.

I've had this Fireball II sitting on the shelf for a couple of years and decided to see how it looked on the wife's car. I decided that it was going back in service since the Firebeam just looks weird on the roof.

You can always put the Firebeam in the rear deck. That's what I've done with mine, and it has the mirror attachment. I have a visor light up front.

Remember, a little of this grease goes a long way. Don't over do it.

A little white lithium grease does go a long way. I bought a 5 ounce tube in 1988. I used it for one engine rebuild, numerous firearms, untold numbers of hinges, and bunches of gears. I still have a little left in that tube. I also bought an aerosol can of the stuff, that can did not last long.
