Its time for new fire gloves for me, and just wanted to see what you guys are using? I'm looking at the American Firewear: Kangaroo Leather Super Glove. What would you recommend?

Dan

Super Gloves are the way to go. Mine have seen a lot of fire and are just as good as the day I started using them.

Super Gloves, although mine are about to be replaced as they have a few holes/wear in the liner...

Love them and wouldn't switch for anything else.

ProTech 8 Titans love them I think they are amazing

firedex cowhides, love em to death, although ive tried a pair of the blaze fighter gloves, and those are very comfortable, and no, theyre not from the batch that was recalled.

I've worn all of the ProTech's except the Kangaroo's. Absolutely love them. Currently I'm wearing a set of the Fusions, and they have held up really well. I wouldn't but anything else.

I've worn flame flighters and currently shelby...I like them both but i dont like when they get wet and the insides pull out talkin about the shelbly. If it was me and i had the money i would buy the kangroo's ive heard they are kickass....

ESKA FIREFIGHTING GLOVE - LEATHER

That is what I have. Price seems to have gone up big TIME! They were around $60 when I bought them 2-3yrs back. They are VERY comfortable, come broken in, you have grip/pliability/dexterity to them as well.

EXCLUSIVE - FIREMASTER ULTRA GLOVE WITH GAUNTLET

These are also some awesome glove, and if I have to get a new set, what I'd get. They look and feel like regular leather work gloves, yet are Fire Gloves. They are just light, flexible and are bulky like most.

I'm interested in a pair of the American Firewear: Kangaroo Leather Super Glove but looking on the firestore website mentioned that if your normal gloves seem to have the fingers too long you may need the cadet size...this seems to happen to me with gloves, should I try the cadet size? I don't really want to get them then find out they're wicked small.

Anyone able to chime in on the size difference? No fire equipment store near me with them so I can't try them on.

Dragon Fire ALPHA X NFPA 1971 Structural Glove w/ Gauntlet Cuff

These are a great pair of gloves, and I have tested/owned a lot of firefighting gloves. The best price I have found on the Dragon Fire gloves is here. I have also owned a pair of the American Firewear Super Gloves but they did not fit my hand properly, and the Pro-Tech 8 Titans were impossible for me to get back on once the gloves were wet. I have not had this issue at all with the Dragon Fire ALPHA X as of yet.

As for which I liked best... well it goes in order. The Super Glove is just downright a great glove and is going to be hard to be beat. The American FireWear Firemates are really nice, has a good feel to them and held up pretty well. The Shelby FDP 5226's were ok... I really like them because of the size, they were small, It fit more like a glove and I could feel everything. They didnt hold up as great as I ran through 3 or 4 pair but it was hard worked gloves, not just sitting in a gear bag. Also they became really stiff.... The american firewear gloves will not. Hope this helped some.
