Hi All

Our department is getting a donated 2009 Ford F-250. We will be funding the setup ourselves. I am looking for your ideas on a good lighting siren and console setup. We are pretty set on Whelen as the lighting mfg as they have not failed us yet.

Thinking:

Whelen Legacy lightbar

Setina push bumper with 2 front ion and 2 intersection ion

2 linz6 led on licence plate mount

Tadp8 traffic director on headache rack

Whelen siren controller and switch box

Havis console

Any ideas appreciated.

What kind of truck is it, a pickup or a utility box, or a brush truck? Is this police or fire? What is the intended use of the truck? Response? Traffic control?

I just finished outfitting my 2015 F 250 POV

Front:  Setina grill guard with two Whelen 314 speakers

4 Whelen M7 lightheads mounted vertically to grill.  (R/W facing forward, R mounted at 45 degree angle on side of grill)

Whelen 10 head all red inner edge

Rear:  Whelen 400 series custom inner lightbar (red over amber)

2 Whelen TIR 6 red on top of tool box

2 Whelen ION r/c on license plate bracket (red flash white backup)

Atomic  CHMSL replacement with built in flasher

All controlled by Whelen Cencom Saphire

Hoping to get pictures/video posted soon.

Big truck = big lights. Put M7s in the grill.

Thanks for the replies! After watching a couple videos we will definitely go with the different light bar.

It will mainly be used for wildland but secondarily will respond to highway incidents. All rural, no city or town roads at all.

It is a long box and will come with a aluminum headache rack and bed rails. For wildland season we will be putting in a slip in tank and pump.

Was thinking for the rear side quarter panel to put a vertex on each side?

Ya I should rephrase. Vertex in the rear tail light and probably M6's on the rear quarter panel.
I would consider Feniex Cannons before committing to the Vertex. The Cannons are much more functional for the price.

I currently have Vertex on my POV, and actually would like to swap them out for Cannons.

I would use other manufacturers besides Whelen for your lighting. My suggestions are:

Lightbar:

SoundOff nForce 54" in red with dual color R/W front and R/A rear

Front

Whelen M6 in the grill solid red

HLF

Sides:

Whelen M4 for intersection

Whelen M4 on the rear quarter panel next to the taillight

Rear:

Whelen M6 solid red x2 on the tailgate

Siren/speakers:

SoundOff nErgy 200 watt siren

Federal Signal AS124 speakers x2

Going with the dual color lightbar will provide you with great scene lighting up front as well as amber T/A capability while being cheaper than a single color Whelen bar.
