Grote code 3xl

Thought this was interesting picked up a NOS grout code 3 XL four rotator and the location of the mirrors in the rotators are very odd to me, but I couldn’t pass it up because like I said it’s NOS and I can’t resist any light or I’m not gonna lie, but why are these rotators mounted like this is a question

Nice, finding a Grote ver of the XL5K is not all that common. Add to that its NOS condition, great score.

Very nice and an unusual bar. I'm guessing Grote used a different mirror and rotating reflector arrangement for the same reason that Gall's did with their rebranded PSE Code 3 SD bars (Gall's Traffic Buster). It made them a little different from the standard PSE products.

I have a Code 3 5k from the 90s that uses those mirror types.

These are half mirror s that seem to be seem much wider then a normal mirror. The rotator placements are odd on this one right next to each other

That's a tow truck special XL5000. I used to see them occasionally back in the 90's and early 2000's.
