What do you guys recommend for led ground lighting ? preferably on the cheaper side ? im always dropping shit at night near my truck and the scene lights dont light up the ground colse to the vehicle.

I been thinking about doing the same thing. I would like a white/clear led strip under my running boards. I am just not sure where or what kind to get.

We have used the Tecniq E10 series a number of times with good results. It's LED, fully waterproof, and lifetime warranty. They run $50-$80 depending on the model (with or without bracket). Tecniq won't sell direct but they have lots of distributors around.

The light generally gives about a 4' deep x 8' wide light pattern. We've also used them for auxiliary backup lights, and even lighting inside a pickup truck canopy/cap.

The bracket (optional) is a VERY heavy duty chrome-plated bracket. It's not some wimpy 16ga steel or whatever. I'm not good with thickness gauge, but maybe 8 ga? It's really thick and heavy.

Hope that helps.

Oznium also has some other pretty cool LED stuff but it's more along the lines of just for fun or project stuff, nothing useful for warning lights unless you're gonna build your own.

8 gauge is damn near battery wire. Do you sell them i can find any where online that dose

The bracket is beefy,

probably around 3/16" thick.

I don't know what they listed for, I bought them thru my old job and remember paying $35ish without the bracket and $40 with.

(They are still listed as a distributor)

We have 8 of the Whelen 3" Round LED Compartment Lights in the Red/White version under our Nissan Armada. At night they light up the ground under and around the vehicle very well in either color. They are also sealed well enough to survive on the underside of the vehicle.

I don't know if they'll be that cheap. You'll likely find them for $60 or so but you might be able to do a bit better than that.

Tecniq has excellent 4" and 6" lights as well (much less expensive than the ones you refer to above). We order the 4" dual colour (red/white) by the 100 and use them as ceiling lights in public safety vehicles - we have hundreds out there and have never had a failure. The Lifetime Warranty is a great feature, too, though I've never had to use it.

The E10 ground light puts out a much different pattern than the round lights (whelen or tecniq) and is much more suitable to ground lighting.
