Headlight flasher as tail light flasher?

I drive an 07 Explorer. I have a tail light flasher on it, with only the backup lights hooked up to flash due to BCM issues with the brake lights, and was wondering if I could put a standard headlight flasher on the back up lights? I have thought about it and don't see what it would not work, but wanted to get some feedback from anyone on here a little more educated than I. Thanks!

Yes, it would work. Just make sure you connect it to where the reverse lights split from one wire to two, and also make sure you wire the high beam override to the reverse lead. (so when you toss it into reverse, the reverse lights stay on constant)

Also, wasn't this asked a few weeks ago??
