Here is my objective.

1-Keep the two way radio operational with the key out and engine not running, but have it cut off after an hour.

2-Keep lights flashing with the key out.

Ideas?

This will be on 2012 Dodge 1500's.

With the engine off, are you only using one battery? or seperate dual setup? Cause you'll kill a battery before an hour has passed depending on the lights.

Not necessarily. Being these are 2012 Rams, I'd assume they'll get newer technology lights as well, read LEDs. When I had my 97 Yukon equipped with a full LED LB, 4 led heads in the grille, 4 led heads for the side (2 each side), 4 led lights for the rear, a dashlight, mirrorbeams, a rear TA/warn bar, and 4 LAWs all around, I ran it with everything going for upwards of 4-6 hours with the vehicle off. It fired up just fine. Considering this is overkill and way more that most agency use, I wouldn't see any problem with him running just LED lights for several hours. Now, if there's HAWs, strobes, halogen lights, HLF, or TLF, I'd cut those back/off to save power.

Look up IdleRight by Havis. It's exactly what you need. Helps save your battery and your fuel: Havis: IR-1002: Idleright, Universal, Control module

Better than the ChargeGuard, but now they have it in the same platform as Charge Guard. It's like ChargeGuard, only it loops indefinitely, instead of just shutting off until you turn things back on.
