Inner Edge modules question

I have a customer with a Whelen Inner Edge. I have not seen the bar but it's described as a bar with some TIR and some LIN optics, so I assume it's the TIR3/LIN3 version. The customer has an all red bar and needs to switch it to all blue.

Can you simply plug and play with these or is it much more complicated?

If yes - where to find?

Pimp,

I believe that their were two versions made, one with TIR/LIN are just optics that sit on top of LED boards... they aren't whole modules that come out and can be switched. The second is all TIR and those I believe are whole modules... I think the TIR/LIN are the newer versions... but again I could be wrong...

I'm pretty sure you can switch the LED boards, red for blue... but don't quote me on that... Here's the part number from the install guide for blue LED boards... 02-0164748-20

And the install guide to see what I'm talking about... http://www.whelen.com/_AUTOMOTIVE/install/140/14060.pdf

Thanks,

Seth

it appears that the diodes themselves sit on a board, which is plugged into the wiring

The colors can be changed out, they are just small circuit boards with LED's on them. However, depending what model he has it may be cheaper to buy a whole new inner edge as the boards are $84 List price each.
