Install help - Jetstream rotator/wiring

I read a old post but technology moves fast so I'll ask...

Has anyone found a bright LED array-style bulb that would work? Would greatly reduce power requirements I'm sure.

As a secondary question, what switch box is recommended for this bar? It's got everything. 5 rotators, alleys lights, rear flashers and takedowns.

Thanks in advance.

I would do a search, I know this has been discussed a few times before.

The general consensus is yes, there are bulbs that fit--- and no, none work well for actual warning use.

They might be fine for display, but not when your life depends on it.

As far as I know, there still isn't an LED available that is capable of replacing standard halogen bulbs for rotator use.

For the switch box, any brand fused switchbox should be sufficient: Federal Signal SW-200, etc. I can't quote the amp rating on the bar, but most switch boxes (FS,C3,Whelen,Galls,Sho-Me,etc) should be able to handle the load

Yeah, that's where the secondary question comes in cause I'm current just using the rotators but all the power through one switching point gets kinda hot. Need something safe for long duration use. I run escort and tail sometimes and the heat concerns me.

I'd also like to use the other functions as well. The rear flashers should be on with the rotators but the alleys and takedowns would make great scene lighting obviously.

FS keeps sending me the same diagram.

Main power and main ground and then all the functions. When I connect main power and ground, the outter rotators come on. Is this right? Idk. I need a diagram or some instruction to check internal wiring. Is it supposed to be constant power and switched function. Need help...and a switch box. Lol

As far as I know (and I may be wrong) Jets are all High Current bars... All the functions get 100% of their power from their activation wire... There for, yes, the outer rotators should come one when you apply power to the red wire... Applying power to the other wires in the cable will activate the other functions...

If its getting that hot, its not wired properly somewhere...

All you need to do is hook up the other wires...

you might have to open the bar an make sure the wiring hasnt been tampered with.

Perhaps a Highlighter would be a better start.

Not a option. Wiring isn't complicated. Just need some information on correct operation and a diagram if I can find it.

Nobody has pictures or a diagram of how this bar is wired internally? I've run a search and inquired with FS but I only see basic install information.

Wiring isn't hard

Just trace the wires to the rotors note what color goes to them and what color wire comes form the control cable.

Next trace the other lights be they TD's, allys or what ever else might be in there the same way you did the rotors.

And when done you'll have your wiring diagram.

By the way you want to cut down on power put in 35 watt bulbs.

I bought alot of led bulbs of Ebay some had 52 leds look great after I put them in and turned them on in the basement, but when taken outside you could not see that they were even on.

Yeah, I can do that. Was just hoping someone had the info already. A bit more consuming but it'll achieve the same result. Do the outer rotators usually come on when just main power and ground are connected?

Depending on the model there will be a large black ground and one or two mid sized red wires. Those are rotators. 99% of the time all the other wires are 12 v options.
