I've got an FX-2, so I'm waiting to hear the advice you get. So far there have been 48 views, but no opinions.

I have mounted a set of SnM TIR6 on the vertical supports using L brackets and spacers. Also on the bottom part of the grill. Solid platform and great visibility. Here's a video.

I think this is his grill:

A couple questions we all need answered to help you:

Are you willing to sell the LIN3 for a better sized LED?

Are you open to alternative LED options instead of grill?

I'd go with this!

On a serious note... I'd say sell the lin3 and buy one of the tir6 slim lightheads. You'll get better output and I'm sure any of them will fit those grill slots. Axixtech, Whelen, SOS, Strobes N More...all have a small TIR6. Congrats on the truck...be safe!

I agree, this will most likely be the best option. You can use some aluminum stock from lowes or home depot and make mounting brackets. That's what I did on Station 3's F150 and our U/C F150 at my PD. I'll have to get pics when u get a chance.

i say go with 4 Whelen IONs or 4 StrobesNMore dual color E6 TIR style lightheads. i would also get a pair of Whelen PAR32, dual color fog light replacements

Do you want the lights behind the grill, or does it not matter? I am not a fan of a small light in a a larger grill. Go with a light with a larger footprint. A guy on my Dept has a Dodge and he mounted a pair of Whelen LEDs on the grill. He has some type of bracket on the back of the grill and he sandwiched the lights to the grill. I think it looks nice.

I hear ya about the money, but you might be able to sell them and buy a 6TIR off brand "Axixtech, SNM, AWL...etc" for the same or close to what you make. The difference would be huge!! Plus TIR should be mounted behind grill. LIN is more appropriate for mounting in front of grill, so you can take advantage of the off-axis. Do some research on selling them on here vs eBay and then see cost of a new 6TIR.
