Cage or not, PIT in any unibody vehicle (including the explorer/taurus/charger/caprice) and it'll be OOS for a while.

Negative. Troopers with OHP do the PIT (TVI actually) quite often and have yet to see a Charger sustain any damage. The Ibis Teks help but none of the cars are out of service after the manuever. Our agency, I've yet to see a vehicle out of service after a TVI. Maybe some touch up paint but nothing which would side line the car.

Bad thing is that was a staged video (thus the 'police training footage' at the top). They've done ones like that before and, even being fake, a lot of us who lived there weren't happy with the sheriff even pretending to shoot out tires while driving, especially in a neighborhood.

GSP's newer cars have <gasp!> Spotlights and amber to the rear. Either the world is ending or someone woke up.

I think it's funny how my chief 'suddenly' thinks we need to add spotlights to all our cars after playing with one of the new trooper cars in the area...

Hopefully he will drink some of the push bumper/ more lights then just a bar/ let your officers chase with discretion kool-aid
