Leather Front for UST6

I'm looking to get a leather helmet front for a Bullard UST6. I'd like to order one from TheFireStore, but they have two different options that I'm having trouble distinguishing between. When you pull up Bullard, under models they have UST6 "6 Inch Fronts" and "Notched 6 Inch Fronts."


Maybe there's some major thing I'm missing here, but what's the difference? The available options are all the same except for a notch at the top. Looking at most of the pictures I can find, it looks like people who have this helmet have a solid top (not notched) so what's the purpose of the notched ones? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but hopefully someone can shed some light on it...

Ended up contacting TheFireStore's customer service center, I wanted to share their answer for anyone else who might come across this thread:


According to them, the notched leather fronts are for UST helmets manufactured before 2006, so, newer helmets can use the standard shaped front.
