Which light(s) is/are brighter? What's the best bang for your buck!?

The Axixtech MS6 and the Federal Signal Mircopulse are the same exact light. Axixtech makes them and rebrands them for Federal Signal.

Axixtech MS6 and Federal Signal MicroPulse are both made in the same factory. So thats narrowed it down a bit. :thumbsup:

So you are telling me that they are the exact same light with identical light output and similar patterns/durability. How about brightness/durability with those two vs Whelen and SoundOff?

I've got 2 MS6 on my POV and have had them in place for about a year. So far no issues at all through a South Carolina summer. My only complaint is that from the driver's seat, they LOOK a little bigger than the Ghosts but I think that is due to the fact that they are more "boxy" while the Ghosts are a little more streamlined.

I have used alot of SOS ghost lights and for the last two years used whelen ION lights. They are about the same price and when I compare them side by side the ION is brighter than the ghost lights and I like the flash patterns on the ION better but, I like the size and the way the Ghost light mount better. I am installing ION wide angle on some new cars right now and they are better than the regular ION lights.

Thanks Everyone! Where's the best (i.e. cheapest) place to get each of these lights? Among doing some research, I found that SirenWorld.com | Emergency Vehicle Lighting and Equipment | 100% Firefighter Owned! has an ELB 15% discount. The SoundOff Ghosts are $83.05 regular price. If you add the discount, the new price is valid as $70.59 EA for a Ghost with a Universal Mount.

I should have also cleared up that I like the universal mounts that are available on the Ghost, Ion, MS6 and the Micropulse...and whatever other light that is similar that I'm forgetting to name.

Okay. I get that the Axixtech MS6 is the same as the Micropulse...I wonder if they changed anything or made any improvements/flash pattern changes? Whelen Ion vs Ghost in brightness...also 385 handheld siren for 270 with said discount.

I have seen all of these and cannot tell the difference. I would bet that scientifically the difference in brightness based on model is less than the difference in the brightness based on random LED batch variety. You will never notice a difference, get the cheapest one.


That said........ don't ruin them by splitting them. Use them in solid colors.

Thanks, John! Was planning on getting two in solid colors and having the entire lighthead flash....alternating in an effective pattern. I'm not a fan for split flash. Thanks for clearing the dilemma up! Now where to buy lights...

I'm okay with that. But if we're talking first...The first LED's weren't all that great. It was after they had been out a while


and many manufactures got the opportunity to improve upon and make them better. So first isn't always best...but now


that they're developed and have been out a while...I guess they aren't bad either?!...
