SUNLIGHT BEING BLAMED FOR WRECK THAT INJURED ST. JOE POLICE OFFICER
THE GLARE OF SUNLIGHT IS TO BLAME IN A THURSDAY EVENING TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INVOLVING A SAINT JOSEPH POLICE OFFICER. ACCORDING TO THE TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL, OFFICER TYLER MCDOW STOPPED TO ASSIST A MOTORIST OUT OF GAS AROUND 5 P-M IN THE HIGHWAY 43 TURN LANE NEAR THE NORTH SECOND AVENUE INTERSECTION. A CHEVY MALIBU DRIVEN BY LAKESHA MOORE OF LORETTO STRUCK THE FRONT OF MCDOW'S PATROL CAR INJURING THE OFFICER AND THE STRANDED MOTORIST. BOTH WERE TREATED AND RELEASED FROM CROCKETT HOSPITAL WITH MINOR INJURIES. REPORTS INDICATE THAT THE INTENSE SUN GLARE KEPT MOORE FROM SEEING THE VEHICLES AS SHE APPROACHED. TROOPER JONATHAN PULLEY INVESTIGATED THE ACCIDENT.

LAWRENCE AUTHORITIES CHASE MAN; OFFICER INJURED
SEVERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WERE INVOLVED IN A CHASE THRU LAWRENCE COUNTY THURSDAY NIGHT RESULTING IN THE ARREST OF A LAWRENCEBURG MAN. ACCORDING TO CHIEF JUDY MOORE OF THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT, OFFICERS RESPONDED TO A MAPLE AVENUE HOME ON A CALL OF A POSSIBLE DOMESTIC ALTERCATION. WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED, THEY FOUND AN INJURED WOMAN AND THE SUSPECT, 32 YEAR OLD JASON EDWARD PERRY, HAD FLED IN A CAR. OFFICERS RECEIVED INFORMATION FROM A FAMILY MEMBER THAT PERRY WAS SUICIDAL AND IN POSSESSION OF A GUN AND PRESCIPTION MEDICATION. OFFICERS FOUND PERRY DRIVING ON PROSSER ROAD AND ATTEMPTED TO PULL HIM OVER. THE SUSPECT RAN FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT THROUGHOUT THE AREA INVOLVING DEPUTIES FROM THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AND THE TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL IN THE PURSUIT. PERRY RETURNED TO THE MAPLE AVENUE HOME AND LAW ENFORCEMENT SURROUNDED THE PROPERTY. LAWRENCEBURG POLICE OFFICER BRIAN HAGAN MADE CONTACT WITH PERRY AND PROCEEDED TO TALK THE SUSPECT INTO PUTTING DOWN THE WEAPON AND COMING OUTSIDE. AFTER COMING OUT OF HIS OWN ACCORD, PERRY RESISTED ATTEMPTS TO PLACE HIM UNDER ARREST. DURING PERRY'S APPREHENSION, OFFICER HAGAN'S LEFT LEG AND ANKLE WERE BROKEN. CHIEF MOORE PRAISED THE COOPERATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN THE ARREST. PERRY IS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH SEVERAL OTHER CHARGES EXPECTED TO BE FORTHCOMING.
