maratrac help

I have a motorola maratrac vhf high band that i had our county program and it will not scan. i have pressed the scan button untill it beeps and scrolled through the avail channels and still nothing it is set up just like my lowband maratrac. is this a programming issue? or something i can do with out spending alot of money?

sounds like a programming issue,that or somehow the scan feature was locked out.

Can you "field program" the scan lists? I know I can on my astro spectras and xts2500's....

Is your mic clip grounded? Maratracs must have a grounded mic clip for the PL decoder/scan functions to work. If not, it will not scan nor will the scan function work while the mic is out of the clip.

Don't some radios need an actual wire to the vehicle ground from the mic clip. Some of our old low band Motos needed this to engage the PL while the mic was hung up..

Yess.. some of them had to have the mic GROUNDED>> so if it is attached to a plastic or non-metal surgace.. you will have to run a ground.

well i have a low band maratrac next to the high band and the mic clips are mounted to the same surface. swaping cotrol heads does nothing either.

then it sounds like a programming problem.. you can program the scan on, or off.. so it may have gotten shut off..
