I want to hook up a master switch in my vehicle. My question is how big the switch needs to be rated for, and what online stores carries it?

I have:

-90wat strobe kit

-6 led body mounts, 3 watts each believe (each light has 3 leds gen 2 leds in it)

-1 talon mini phantom windshield led

-2 led grill mounts, 6 watts each (6 leds on each light)

-1 whelen headlight flasher

will a 40 amp switch handle this load? what other specifications on the switch do i need to be aware of?

FWIW i want an illuminated rocker switch. who sells those online in this size?

thanks

might be better to wire everything up to a relay. then use a second power source on the "master switch" for it to kick the rest of the power on for your equipment.

If you didnt want a switch inside the vehicle a closeable circuit breaker under the hood would act as a "master switch"

A 40 amp switch will be fine but as Jarred said a relay would be much better. You could not only use any switch you want but I would think it would cut down on your wire size as well.
