Even though both of these units look pretty much the same, can anyone tell me what the differences between both of these units. And also the the differences between the watts. Thanks

I use the CM300 VHF 45watt. I can't stand it. The range is awful (tried various antenna's), had it serviced in the field and sent in and it is always static when monitoring. Could be do to some other equipment in the car, but in another patrol car we have that has it the senario is the same. Personally I don't like the Radius brand, but that's just me. Don't know much on the PM400 or anyone that has it. More and more PD's use the PM1500 in 110 watt range (vhf). Moral is, I wouldn't recommend it for Law Enforcement use.

Ohh ok what is the differences between the watts. Is it the higher you go the longer range, and mine will be used for fire and ems.

both come in 25 and 45 watt flavors. Higher power output = better range and terrain has a lot of effect on range also.
