Mounting liberty on backrack

I am in the process of installing my whelen liberty on a backrack. I have brackets for the rack, with my excalibur I could directly mount the lightbar to the brackets. The only way I can see to mount the liberty to the brackets is to use the mounting feet. Is there anyway to directly mount the back to the brackets?

backrack fullsize lightbar mounting brackets pair -

Part # 91006

also for a sturdier/secure mount you can use 2 of these

Utility Light Bracket. Center Mount, 16" x 7" Base

Part # 91002REC

you can check out backrack.com and it will give you a list of retail stores and or online retailers

I have the backrack brackets already, used them with my code 3 excalibur. The excalibur had a track system that used a carriage bolt. The problem I have is actually attaching the lightbar to the backrack brackets. The only way I can figure is drill a hole in the lightbar which I'm not too crazy about.

I just installed my Patriot on my backrack as well. I had some U-Channel brackets bent up to fit. This was, I drilled and tapped the top rack bar, then drilled matching holes in the brackets, then just tightened them down. The brackets were cut just a tad too short, so they do not sit flush on the rack. It was a trial so the second time around will be much better. It is very hard to remove the bar this way, done on purpose. I also have run the wires through the downtube of the backrack, then across the back support to the rear of the bed of the truck. From there I can run the wires into the cab. With the exception of about 4"of wire, its all hidden.

That a nice set up. Right now I have it mounted with feet on and its sitting on my back rack brackets. It's way too high but it will work until I find the proper brackets of have something fabricated.

Either of these should work:

Part No.: MKEZ7 -> 1-1/2" Permanent Mount / ALL

Part No.: MK9S -> Slide Bolt Brackets for Flat Surface Mounting (2 ea.) 48"/55" 48.00

Though I would check with Whelen and see which would work better for your specific application.

I used the Back Rack light bar brackets, part # 91006 and the Whelen slide bolt kit, MK9S to mount my Liberty to my Back Rack. It works well. I ordered all of that stuff from Sarah at Priority1Emergency. She's a member her on the board and is really great to deal with. If you get these brackets and slide bolts you will need to drill the holes bigger in the back rack brackets. 1/2" drill bit will do the trick. The back rack brackets already have 3 holes pre-drilled from the factory in them, but they are not big enough to accept the bolts from the Whelen slide bolt kit, so you will need to make them bigger.

On my mini I putt some steel flatstock in the mounting feet track and ran some bolts threw it and the backrack lightbar mounts. The bar was once full size and I mounted it with the whelen slide bolt mounts but it sat to far above the roof line for my liking so this way it gives it a more flush look.

Sorry no pics but just pause it in the beginning

Those are just stainless 1/4-20 x 1 1/2" long screws. For mounting with the plastic feet.

Slide bolts work the best with a backrack if you don't want to make anything custom or drill thru the base frame.

Which can be found online for around $50-75 for a pair.

I ended up using the permanent mount feet and cut the actual foot part off. Drilled 2 holes through the metal piece and the plastic feet mount and bolted it right up. I'll have a pic to follow.
