When I purchased this vehicle (a 2007 2500HD Dodge Ram), I had no intent on putting any lights or sirens on it. But when I found out how much time it would save getting to the station, I decided to get some. As some of y'all with Ram's may know, interior mounting is almost impossible. I mean, I got a lightbar controller above my rear-view mirror! Anyways, the siren I am looking to mount (the control head) is 2-7/8" H x 6-1/4" W x 1" D. I thought about getting a small console to replace the middle seat but then I thought, why spend $200 on a console for just a lightbar controller, a rocker switch, and a siren controller.. Can anyone please give me some tips on what to do? Siren gets here friday and I'm out of ideas. :ugh:

Velcro can become a good friend in these situations. With a remote control head, try using velcro to mount near the radio or any small free space.

If you don't want to do that, find or craft a piece of metal to mount the control head somewhere convenient.

Velcro won't do.. Not allowed that anymore  Someone did that with their whelen and it fell, broke, and got stuck on phaser.. Not a fun time

You need a cencom or a smart siren, then mount it on the top of the dash or in front of the shifter!

I've just never been a whelen fan lol. Carson is the only one for me. The control head dimensions are 2-7/8" H x 6-1/4" W x 1" D

Just get creative. Carson remote sirens are small, and go literally almost anywhere in any car. You just need to sit down in the car and think where you want it. Guarantee all you need is either wood or metal, and a drill.

True. I do not have the siren as of now, but on friday I will. Speaking of "creativity" I made, out of a block of wood, a model of the control head just to figure out where to put it :dielaugh: Didn't fit anywhere though :worried:

Depending on how well you are with wood and screws, make a pedestal for it. The base could be anchored under the middle seat so it would be at your fingertips on the front edge of the center seat.

Other option would be to go to Home Depot/Lowes/Where ever and but some aluminum flat bar stock and make a bale bracket for it.

I will try to get a pic today but for my 05 ram I mounted my 2way radio between the seat and the cup holder using angle iron from home depot that I cut and bent into angled brackets. I drilled into the botom of the center seat and used a bolt in each side to hold it in. I think there would be enough room to mount your siren like this.

I think this is a good idea and it could be mounted on the dash between the radio and climate controls. On the front of the cup holders would work also if you never close them.

Yes between your radio and air conditioner is perfect. ALthough it slightly will block air conditioner controls, all you need to activate them is to turn a knob, so its fine.

Again, metal, wood, and a drill. You can also make it removable from that position even if you want to mess with air conditioner and then put the siren back.

I just got the siren. It is half way installed, everything except the control head. I tried between the radio and air conditioner and there is no possible way to mount the thing; It would not fit. I am going to go out and try some more places but I don't think it would fit anywhere.
